2024 Te Anau Waitangi Festival Programme

Haere mai! Welcome everyone.

Celebrate and commemorate our shared identity in the spirit of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Te Anau Waitangi Charitable Trust in partnership with Ngā Herenga Waka Kapa Haka, has curated the 2024 Te Anau Waitangi Festival programme to acknowledge an important day in our nation's history, Waitangi Day.

Our kaupapa is about building community through the creative arts, education, sharing kai and cross-cultural experiences. So, check out our fun-filled programme of events designed with our awesome community and manuhiri (visitors) in mind. We encourage everyone, from the young to the young at heart, to participate, learn and share together this Te Anau Waitangi Festival.

Festival displays you can view in your own time from the end of January:

  • Enjoy the Story Walk in Te Anau Memorial Gardens and view the Te Anau Waitangi day book display at Te Anau Library.

  • View Te Tiriti o Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi) shop window display at 60 Town Centre with information banners and children’s art.

  • NZ flags will be displayed on main street power poles in Te Anau and Manapouri townships.
